Daily Reading Question
Moroni 10:3-5 is often referred to as "Moroni's promise". We invite all who read these verses to act on this promise and to ask God, who is our loving Heavenly Father, to know if The Book of Mormon is a true book of scripture. We know that if you pray with real intent that God will answer your prayer through the Holy Ghost. Please share your testimony of The Book of Mormon.

I wish I could pinpoint the time when I read the Book of Mormon, followed Moroni's promise, and then received a spiritual confirmation that it was true...but I can't. I have read the Book of Mormon my whole life and as a result have had the Holy Ghost bear witness of the truthfulness of this precious book, it's doctrine and the sacredness of the record over and over and over again. I am continually motivated by prophets promises to make studying and reading a daily habit. This one by President Romney is a favorite, "“I feel certain that if, in our homes, parents will read from the Book of Mormon prayerfully and regularly, both by themselves and with their children, the spirit of that great book will come to permeate our homes and all who dwell therein. The spirit of reverence will increase; mutual respect and consideration for each other will grow. The spirit of contention will depart. Parents will counsel their children in greater love and wisdom. Children will be more responsive and submissive to the counsel of their parents. Righteousness will increase. Faith, hope, and charity—the pure love of Christ—will abound in our homes and lives, bringing in their wake peace, joy, and happiness." Through reading the Book of Mormon I have come to hear Heavenly Fathers voice. The words in the Book of Mormon have served to provide direction, answer questions, chastise and warn, awake my sense of duty, remind me of covenants, inspire and motivate, be a handbook for parenting children, and to provide comfort. I add my testimony to Joseph Smith when he said, "I told the brethren that the Book of Mormon was the most correct of any book on earth, and the keystone of our religion, and a man would get nearer to God by abiding by its precepts, than any other book." DeleteThe power of the Holy ghost for me is peace. And that is what I feel when I read the book of Mormon. Interestingly, I chose the word "peace" to focus on this past year. Following this blog and being able to complete the book of Mormon in a year has really helped me. I know this book is true! And Christ lives and "worketh by power" according to my faith.
ReplyDeleteI would like to add my testimony of the truthfulness of the Book of Mormon. It is indeed a book of miracles. Miracles for those that lived it and miracles for us today. I feel a real power as I read from this book each day. I am blessed with the ability to persevere with more patience, more kindness, more meekness and more love for all those around me! The thing I feel like I learned more this year is the power of His Grace. His grace is truly the divine help, the strength we receive because of His atoning sacrifice. I feel of that strength every day as I read this miraculous book. I love it!! I know it to be true.
