When Ammon was captured, bound, and brought before the king and basically asked, "What are you doing here?", I've always wondered what it was about Ammon's response that made the king so impressed with him that he offered him one of his daughters to marry! Ammon's response was, "Yea, I desire to dwell among this people for a time; yea, and perhaps until the day I die."
ReplyDeleteWhile that is a nice response, I think, possibly, what made Ammon so impressive was the Spirit he had with him. I think we've all met people like that before, who right when we meet them we can tell they have the light of Christ in them. This makes you want to be around this person more and get to know them better. There is no doubt Ammon lived with the Spirit and maybe this is what made King Lamoni so apt to offer him his daughter.
