What is the relationship between the condition of our hearts and our ability to receive spiritual truth?
This is a great question because the answer strikes deep, when I am honest about it. When we are humble and seeking truth, seeking knowledge, continually open to learning more, then the Lord is willing to teach us. This is one of the reasons the Lord chose young Joseph Smith. He could be taught the truth because he was willing to accept it whatever it might be.
ReplyDeleteSomeone who "already knows" cannot find the truth, it's perfectly hidden from the proud who will not ask, and the skeptic who cannot accept on faith enough to sincerely test the truth for themselves, but require proof.
