When I was in high school in Louisiana, a teacher heard I was Mormon and approached me during homeroom. She asked me what I believe. I remember being frustrated by the question, not because I didn't know but because I couldn't explain my beliefs in a few minutes before class. She left the conversation convinced Mormons didn't know what they believed. I look back on this experience as a lesson that helped me prepare for a mission, and also knowing how to explain my beliefs in a minute. That minute includes my personal witness of the Book of Mormon, the articles of faith, modern prophets, the restored gospel, and belief in Christ and his atonement.
