ReplyDeleteI really liked the cross reference for the word "remembrance" in verse 19. It points to D&C 108:7 which says: "Therefore, strengthen your brethren in all your conversation, in all your prayers, in all your exhortations, and in all your doings." The image of stirring something up always brings to my mind a container full of a layered and separated liquid. A drink that has settled, would normally be good but now it needs to be mixed again... requiring constant energy and change.
ReplyDeleteAlso, the phrase "the church began to fail in its progress" stands out here to me as a summary of the effects of prideful people in the church.
