  1. V 15&16 jumped out at me today. "And blessed are they because of their exceeding faith in the words alone..." Sometimes it's hard to base our faith on just WORDS alone. Whether they be from the scriptures or from our prophets today. I know as I do that though my answers come. That peace, that assurance comes. I'm so grateful for the words of our ancient prophets but most especially for our prophet and apostles today. Gen. Conf. this last month was on point!! I know as we have that faith on their Words that we are blessed with all that we need to carry out His will in our own lives.

  2. Verse 30 contains a powerful promise to the "believers." "Yea, and as often as my people repent will I forgive them their trespasses against me." If the Savior will forgive me each time I sin and I don't in turn offer that forgiveness to someone else I must not have a clear understanding of the atonement. However, I do think it's a principle we grow into "line upon line, precept upon precept." I remember a particular time I just couldn't let go of particular offense. I wanted to and really tried to. My feelings of anger ate away at me and I could see it was hindering my ability to progress...those feelings consumed my thoughts and emotional energies. Looking back I was trying to do it on my own...be the bigger person. I decided I needed to make it a matter of prayer and fasting. I really tried to make my fasting intentional and meaningful...asking The Lord to replace my feelings of anger with peace and to help forgiveness to come. My testimony grew as the subsequent days and weeks produced sweet feelings of peace and the ability to let go and forgive. Like Nephi, we are not given a commandment without The Lord preparing a way for us to accomplish and find success in keeping that commandment. (1 Nephi 3:7) For me it was through fasting and the tender mercy of the atonement. This church is so true!

  3. I like the quote that says, "Anger is like drinking poison and expecting the other person to die." It is so easy to hang onto anger but there is such a peace that comes from forgiving others.
