V41 is one of my all time favorites. I love how it promises happiness twice to those who keep the commandments and how we will be "blessed in all things, both temporal and spiritual" if we are righteous.
ReplyDeleteI loved the second talk about fun and happiness. I am learning that our circumstances do not define our happiness. True happiness is based on our connection with our Heavenly Father. It is surprising (though it shouldn't be) to me that sometimes in the darkest moments of our lives we can feel the most at peace and the most content as we turn our hearts and minds to our Heavenly Father. I think that is why conference weekend is the favorite weekend for so many of us, we are fed a spiritual feast, we are truly happy as we are connecting with the Divine. I am so thankful for the scriptures and for inspired leaders who remind us of these principles that bring true and lasting happiness even when our circumstances would suggest otherwise.
