What lessons can we learn from Mosiah 3:19? How can we put off the natural man?

  1. In my scriptures next to this verse I have a quote from Elder Bednars talk- "The Atonement and the journey of mortality." In part of his talk it says: "the purpose of the Gospel is... to make bad men good and good men better, and to change human nature. The journey of mortality is to progress from bad to good to better and experience the might change of heart- to have our fallen natures changed (Mosiah 5:2). The Book of Mormon is our handbook of instructions as we travel the pathway from bad to good to better and strive to have our hearts changed."
Specifically by verse 19 where it says, putteth off the natural man and becometh a saint, Elder Bednar goes on to say, "the journey from bad to good, this is the process of putting off the natural man and becometh a saint- good men better."

    1. Love Elder Bednars words, thanks for sharing! I also love the idea of the Book of Momon being our handbook of instructions as we travel the pathway from bad to good to better. Thank you.
