All it took was one person to stand against evil. First, Abinadi was that man. And then it was Alma. Once, Alma and his followers left, it seemed others were able to stand up against the king: vs 2-"and there began to be a division among the people". I hope I can have the courage to always stand up for what is right, even alone.
ReplyDeleteWarnings come from the lord, our prophets, our church leaders, our parents. They are to protect us. Elder Stone says, they are watchmen on the tower and are our spiritual eyes. But also with warnings comes promises. This scripture comes to mind, D&C 82:10...I the Lord am bound when ye do what I say, but when ye do not what I say, ye have no promise. How awesome is that! This makes me think of my patriarchal blessing and the promises made to me if I am faithful. As I read it, I can see miracles that have already unfolded. It is another testimony to me that the Lord knows us. He knows our strengths and weaknesses. He warns us but also blesses us and keeps His promises!
