  1. I like this reminder of putting on the whole armor of God. It is so easy to get lazy in certain areas and unfortunately Satan is really good at recognizing our weaknesses. It truly is a spiritual battle we are fighting and we have to be on guard at all times. I also loved the verse that said we will be encircled eternally in the armsof his love. That gives us hope and motivation to put on the whole armor of God.

  2. I love in Elder Tanners talk how he talks about how It is important that we make up our minds early in life as to what we will do and what we will not do. Long before the moment of temptation comes we should have determined that we will resist anything that will keep us from enjoying the companionship of the Spirit of the Lord. We all have different weaknesses and temptations, and we should examine our lives to find out what those weaknesses are and where we should put on extra armor so we can do what is right and not submit to temptation. I also thought it was interesting how he shared the story of David and Goliath and how David was clothed with the armor of God and killed Goliath but then because he didn't continue to have the whole armor of God, he strayed. The keyword is WHOLE. We cannot obey only some of the commandments or we will be vulnerable to temptation in those areas where we have weaknesses and where we have failed to give ourselves the protection offered through keeping the commandments.

  3. Lehi teaches that this armor will bring us out of obscurity; that dark, foggy, undefined, idle place that has nothing of real value in it, no happiness or misery, just stagnant. A place where there is no personal progression, only apathy and idleness, maybe this is why he also mentions arising from the dust. Putting on the armor is to snap out of it, look around and seek the good, in spite of all the bad that will always be abundant. Learning to push through the tough times by relying on God even when you might have every reason not to. A moment in personal prayer always brings the light back, and spending a few minutes to study the scriptures invites the Spirit.

It only sounds easy, I'm the first to admit it's not. But that's the test, right?

  4. When we do what is right, The Lord give us an added measure of protection. We will have the spirit to help us continue to do what is right.

Satan will try to make us stubble when we are doing well or have big events coming up. He focuses more energy on a person preparing for a mission, or a couple preparing for the temple. We definitely need the armor of righteousness/god to withstand this.
