  1. Of the roles the Savior has, a few that have been more meaningful to me lately are Redeemer, Mediator, Fair Judge, and Teacher. I thought I had a fair understanding of the basics of the atonement, but I am learning and witnessing how deep, how personal, how compassionate, and how merciful the Lord is beyond what I previously thought. The atonement is infinite and continuous, and that is difficult to understand until you have personally experienced those depths. This must be a journey we each have to make on our own at our own pace, I feel like I'm the last one.

Then there's Isaiah... I feel like I'm at the back again trying to figure out what he just said.

  2. Three or four times in my reading in 2 Nephi today it said this phrase “For all this his anger is not turned away, but his hand is stretched out still.” Just another example to me of how His mercy overpowers justice.
The Savior is my kind, wise, heavenly Friend. He lives and loves me to the end. (Hymn #136: I Know that My Redeemer Lives.)

    1. I learned something really cool today and it relates to Jen's comment. In Matthew 5:48 we are commanded to "Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect." I've always struggled with this because I know I will never be perfect in this life. Footnote 'b' says perfect in this case means "complete". That changes everything!

The Savior wants us to be complete, or whole like He is. How do we do that? He repeatedly invites us to 'come unto him and He will make us whole, i.e. complete..... i.e. perfect. I believe that as long as we are striving to improve each day, and as we rely on our merciful older Brother, we will be made perfect (or complete) one day.

  3. I love the imagery of despite his anger, his hand being outstretched still, beckoning to us.
