  1. I love this quote from the talk today by Joesph B. Wirthlin, "In the plan of salvation, all families are precious instruments in the Lord’s hands to help direct His children toward a celestial destination. The righteous molding of an immortal soul is the highest work we can do, and the home is the place to do it. To accomplish this eternal work, we should make our homes gospel centered. When peace and harmony abound, the Holy Spirit will ever be present. The storms of the evil one can be stopped at the very entrance of our homes." I love how in the end he talked about having the evil entrance stop at the entrance of our home. How many things are we letting come into our home that we shouldn't? I have noticed since I started this challenge that I am more aware of what I am allowing into my home in the form of television and music. I am going to try harder to surround myself and my family with good and uplifting entertainment.

  2. I am a little behind in my reading but what I read today was an answer to my prayer. I have been thinking a lot about how to safeguard my home from the evils of the world. I have been thinking about how to best prepare my children for some day leaving our home and going out on their own. I keep coming back to the scripture Elder Wirthlin shared in his talk. Helaman 5:12 talks about building our foundation upon the rock of our Redeemer to keep the temptations and fiery darts of Satan at bay. I loved his talk and Elder Scott's talk. They gave so many great examples of how to build a Christ centered home. Prayer, scripture study, Family Home Evening, inviting the spirit, teaching children to work, giving them structure and guidelines, learning to serve, and above all love. These words were such a blessing to me today.
