ReplyDeleteAs I was reading this week, something hit me: Everything the Savior did was calculated and for a reason!
ReplyDeleteAs he was teaching parables, He knew these teachings would be recorded, and that you and I would be reading them in the last days.
He also knew truths would be lost in translation, and He knew we would need the BOM to clarify these lost truths. His purpose and his goal is to bring us back to Him, so it’s kind of like He left a breadcrumb trail to lead us back to Him. And if we chose to see this breadcrumb trail, we realize that they are huge, clearly visible pieces of bread that keep us on the correct path back to Him.
Such great insight!! I always learn so much from your comments.

ReplyDeleteI followed the footnotes for the word "hiss" because I have always thought it's an odd word to use in the context of spreading the gospel. It means "whistle," or at least that what the root word it's translated from meant. The point being that it will be a signal to all who are looking, because not everyone will care. It goes hand in hand with the idea of raising a banner, or a standard. I get the idea that is meant to be a signal that will stand out from all the other noise and be a place where those are searching for it can go.
