    1. Love this quote from Sister Reeves' talk that was linked today:

"Brothers and sisters, how do we protect our children and youth? Filters are useful tools, but the greatest filter in the world, the only one that will ultimately work, is the personal internal filter that comes from a deep and abiding testimony of our Heavenly Father’s love and our Savior’s atoning sacrifice for each one of us."

    2. When my two sons were 7 and 4, they were watching the Olympics in the other room. When suddenly they came running out screaming, “Dad, Dad!” Judging from their intensity, I was worried that someone was hurt.

My oldest son said, “Dad, we were watching the Olympics and we saw some pornography. But don’t worry, we closed our eyes, and unplugged the TV and ran out!”

I was shocked, and sad that my pure, innocent boys had been exposed to this garbage. I replied, “Okay son, tell me what you saw.” He explained, “There were these two big ladies, and they were only wearing diapers and they were wrestling.” As he continued to talk, it became clear that what they were watching was Sumo Wrestling!

While they were mistaken in what the content was, their reaction was perfect! This has been a tremendous example for me throughout my life. At the very moment of temptation, my boys fled! Just like Joseph of Egypt with Potiphar’s wife, they got out of there as quickly as possible.

When dealing with pornography, this is what we need to teach our families and thankfully my wonderful wife has done this with our kids. Sadly, I know the day will come, when my boys will be exposed to pornography. But thankfully, I also know they have been taught how to react and I hope they will have the power to act accordingly.
