LOVED the talks today, such great remiders. I especially loved this quote, "In a world and society where Satan is launching his most vicious attacks ever on the children of men, we have no greater weapon than pure, unselfish, Christlike love."
I loved the words "feast upon His (Gods) love." If we all were more mindful of Gods love for ourself and for our family members we would have more patience, long-suffering, and gentleness with them. The more we are filled with God's love, the greater our capacity is to share it and spread it--particularly with those we love the most--our family.
I like the advice of giving love first, as spoken about in the first talk. I shudder to think my children might not feel loved or appreciated. I also like the teaching that we can't assume our family knows we love them, we have to show it and say it in the ways that are meaningful to them, thinking only of ourselves doesn't tend to work in that context.... My 2nd daughter is adopted, she has taught me that to love first may be difficult, but very rewarding. I'm still working on this.
