  1. What is the difference between feasting the scriptures and just reading them is when we first start reading the scriptures search the, then analyze them then we apply or feast a pond them. When we search the scriptures it is equal to snorkeling we only look for answers staying on the top of the water. When we analyze the scriptures it is equal to swimming. This is where we are now encouraged to think about what we are reading or dive a little deeper. When we feast a pond the scriptures it is equal to scuba diving. We begin to apply the scriptures to our life. Because it they do not apple to our life why try.

  2. It seems like when we just read the scriptures we are just trying to check it off from our list of things to do. When we search the scriptures we are looking for answers and understanding. When we read scriptures as a family we always end our scripture reading with a little discussion. We ask our kids questions about what we read so that we know they are understanding what we are reading. We also try to talk about how we can apply these scriptures to our lives. We need to internalize the scriptures and let them affect our lives, allow them to change us. I liked how Elder Christofferson talked about how when we really study the scriptures they become delightsome to us. I have found this to be true in my life. With consistent scripture study I have found that I look forward to reading the scriptures every morning and these wonderful talks that are posted. I love that doing this brings a wonderful start to my day and fortifies me for whatever the day may bring.
