It's crazy how certain verses jump out even after reading the BOM my entire life. V27 jumped out at me today. Especially this part, "so much was his mind swallowed up in other things that he beheld not the filthiness of the water."
ReplyDeleteRight now in the world we live in there is filthiness everywhere! If you want can focus on that and there is enough to keep you occupied forever. But Lehi set a good example for us to be so consumed with other good things, that we don't even notice all the garbage all around us.

ReplyDeleteI liked how it talked about if we hold to the iron rod that we will not peris and that we will be protected from the fiery darts of the adversary. I think when we are reading the scriptures daily we have the spirit with us and his protection. Also when we are studying the scriptures we are focusing on the gospel and pondering things throughout the day which keeps our mind focused on good things which helps keep bad thoughts and temptations at bay.
